Operation Care Package

Washington, DC. -- On Saturday, February 26, 2005 Vermont's First Lady Dorothy Douglas spent several hours at Ft. Belvoir Virginia assembling care packages as part of the USO's Operation Care Package. Mrs. Douglas was in Washington for the weekend while Governor Douglas attended the National Governor's Association Winter Meeting.

"This is a wonderful way for us to support the men and women of our services," Mrs. Douglas said. "The packages that we assembled will be sent to members of the U.S. Armed Forces deployed throughout the world. They remind them how much their service means to each of us and provide them with a little something from home."
